A slot machine or simply slots is a casino gambling machine with three or more reels which spin when a button is pushed. Slot machines are also known as one-armed bandits because they were originally operated by a lever on the side of the machine (the one arm) instead of a button on the front panel, and because of their ability to leave the gamer penniless. They appear in Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout: New Vegas its add-onDead Money, the Fallout 4add-onVault-Tec Workshop, and Fallout 76 in Vault 51.

Slots can be played via dialogue in Fallout and Fallout 2. In Fallout 1 some slots are nuclear war themed and to win 3 nukes are required. Low intelligence characters cannot play slots, as they confuse the machine with a toy or another NPC.

Betting

Bets can range from 1 - 200 chips. Chips must be purchased from the casino cashier being frequented.Note that if you are having trouble finding the cashier look for a person behind a barred counter.

Payouts

Payouts are calculated by the bet amount and the payout multiplier.

Hidden/No-Win Symbol

Players should be aware that there is an additional no-win symbol on the reels that is not mentioned by the game. Players not familiar with slot machines may wonder why the symbols do not always line up. This is due to the fact that the divider 'line' in between the mentioned symbols is also a symbol. If one of the 'lines' falls in between the indicator arrows on the slot machine then the only way for a player to win any money is with Cherry symbols.

Locations

Slots can only be played at the following locations:

If you’ve been playing Fallout 4 for a while then you’re probably well familiar with its workshop feature. However, the mechanic is one of those easy to learn, but hard to master style elements that has a lot of hidden depth throughout. Those who’ve spent dozens of hours building up their settlements will likely breeze through the new DLC, Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop, but others could struggle with a few of the requirements that it asks of the player. We’re here to help though, and one mission could be tough, just because its requirements are a bit hidden away in the workshop menu. So, here’s our guide on how to build and use a terminal in Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop.

About halfway through the Vault-Tec Workshop missions you’ll begin actually running tests on your vault dwellers. These will require a few different things to be built. Most of them will appear in the “Special” area of the workshop menu, but a few are outside of it. One of these is the terminal, which you have to build to manipulate the mechanical bike that you are using for your tests.

To build it, just open up the workshop menu then navigate to Power and Miscellaneous. It is then the second option in this menu, right after the Settlement Beacon. Place it somewhere near whatever object you are trying to control and power it up. I recommend putting in a generator next to this area that at least produces five units of energy. Attach a wire to the terminal (check the bottom of the screen for the specific button necessary), then attach the other end to whatever device you want the terminal to control. Then just activate it as normal, and navigate through the menu for whichever option you want to use for your test.

You can even re-use this same terminal throughout Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop, attaching it to whatever the new device is that the mission requires. With that you should be all set. Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop has a lot of new stuff, but most of it is optional. If anything troubles you too much be sure to let us know in the comments.
